1947 Letter Cyril Griffiths -> Ann G-P "His marriage to one three xxxxx (daughters?) named Napper was rather xxxxxxed (?) but I think he was pretty happy with Aunt Issie, who was fat and cheery". He goes on to say "the two sisters who I used to call Aunt kept a boarding house in xxxxx Court Road, where I lived during my first year at the School of Mines".

London Gazette, 1 Nov 1864, 1st Regiment of the Duke of Lancaster's Own Militia. Her majesty has been graciously pleased to accept the resignation of the Commission held by Lieutenant Charles William Powis. Dated 19th October 1864.

London Gazette 2 Jun 1899, Charles William Powis appears to be executor of the estate of Ann Maria Hareng, late of No 82 Cheriton Road, Folkestone, Kent. Could this be his mother in law?

1901 Census (age 66) living at 'Gwyncred' (? - next to Post Office/Rose Cottage) Pagham, Sussex with wife, son, visitor (Mildred M Houle 32) and 2 servants. Occupation; Living on own means.

1906; Change of trustee for Griffiths/Powis wedding he is of Y-n-Coed Aldwick, Bognor

1911 Census; not pulled; living aged 76 at Westhampnett, Sussex.

London Gazette 10 Aug 1923, Charles William Powis, deceased, formerly of Yn-y-Coed, Aldwick, Bognor, Sussex but late of 21 Lower Parkfields, Putney, London, Gentleman (who died on 6th day of September 1919 and whos will was proved by Frances Mabel Isabella Powis, one of the executrices therein named).


Charles married Isabella Harrison Napper, daughter of Dr. Thomas Laker Napper and Francis Coupland Harrison, Q4 1861 in St James, Westminster. (Isabella Harrison Napper was born in 1844 in Dorking, Surrey.)
