1901 Census (age 30). Unmarried. Living as 'head' at Bye Street, Ledbury, Herefordshire with boarder, visitor and servant. Occupation; 'Mission Work - Preacher'. NB Here gives PoB as Hadley Green, HERTS, but definately right person.
1911 Census (from Wendy) living (age 40, single) as Ass. Superintendent, Duxhurst Colony, Reigate. This was a rehab centre for female drunkards - alternative to prison. Full title 'Duxhurst Colony for Inebriate Women' !
An Evelyn Bateman married in Fulham in 1902, might be her. To either Wm Griffiths or John Edward Kent. BUT;
From Wendy; Great announcement as it gives us her birthday as well! in Times of Wed Oct 4 1950 - Bateman - on Sat Sep 30 1950 at The Poultry Farm Wrington Somerset suddenly and peacefully on the day before her 80th birthday - Evelyn Bateman. Funeral took place at Wrington October 3 - No Flowers.
