Info as mother of Wm from Irthlingborough parish records lookup by Ann-Marie Ell.

IGI (World Misc, not English): Ann Sumpter, dau of John Sumpter and Susanna Scarbrow was bapt 18 Mar 1754 in Higham Ferrers, which is about 1 mile from Irthlingborough. Looked in CRO - it's actually 1755, no additional info.

Found marriage in Northants CRO; Both were OTP. Batchelor and spinster. Signed, not mark of. Witnesses were; John Wallis, Elizabeth Sumpter and Freeman Sumpter.

Also ties into Wrights due to references in her nephew Stephen's will, so definately correct.

Note that there is also ;
Ann ; bapt. 21st Aug 1769 Higham Ferrers dau of Thomas and Martha Sumpter.
Henry; bapt. 22 Jun 1767 HF, dau of Thomas and Martha
Maria; bapt. 19 Aug 1765 HF, dau of Thomas and Martha
Possibly cousins, although there is a Thomas Sumpter bapt in Raunds (few miles away) in Aug 1727 and his parents are Wm and Eliz, so could be different branch.

Couldn't find her grave in St Peter's, Irthlingborough. But did find three Sumpter graves ; they are alone in a group at the front of the church. See Thomas Freeman, Mary and Stephen Sumpter entries.

Ann# married William# Wright, son of Jonas/John# Wright and Abigail# Saxby, on 13 May 1783 in Irthlingborough, Northants. (William# Wright was born in 1746, christened on 5 Dec 1746 in Stanwick, Northants, died in 1816 and was buried on 10 Apr 1816 in Irthlingborough, Northants..)
